THE Liberal Party tandem of Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III and Sen. Mar Roxas continues to maintain its lead in pre-electoral surveys.

The Aquino-Roxas camp, in a statement, said the tandem was chosen by at least 40 percent of the 7,000 respondents in the "Desisyon 2010" survey commissioned by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) and its radio network DZRH.

The camp said the survey did not say which firm conducted the survey and when.

The camp said Aquino garnered 45.7 percent of votes.

Roxas also led the vice presidential derby with a rating of 42.4 percent.

"I am really grateful for our people’s stable support to the reforms that Noynoy, the Liberal Party, and I are fighting for. Our resolve to pursue our fight for clean, honest and straight governance in our country strengthens further)," said Roxas, the LP president.

The camp said five members of the LP senatorial slate made it to the "Magic 12" of the survey: Frank Drilon, Ralph Recto, Sergio OsmeƱa, Rep. TG Guingona and Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon.

The statement noted that three reputable polling agencies have conducted surveys which reflected the Liberal tandem’s commanding lead over their rivals.

It noted the December 6-10 survey conducted by Pedro Laylo Jr. for Manila Standard Today which showed 46 percent of respondents chose Aquino and 41 percent, Roxas.

It also noted the Social Weather Stations December 5-10 survey showing 46 percent chose Aquino for president and 41 percent chose Roxas for vice president, and the Pulse Asia from December 8-10, which showed 45 percent of respondents voting for Aquino and 39 percent for Roxas.
