MANILA - The United Opposition (UNO), comprised of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) and the Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PDP-Laban), on Wednesday announced its initial line up of senatorial candidates for the 2010 elections.
The line up will be led by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Senate Pro Tempore Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada. The list also includes the following congressmen: Congressman Teddy Boy Locsin of Makati, Congressman Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. of Ilocos Norte and Congressman Rodolfo "Ongpong" Plaza of Agusan del Sur.
Newcomers Grace Poe-Llamanzares, daughter of actor Fernando Poe Jr., and NBN-ZTE whistleblower Joey de Venecia, son of former House Speaker Jose de Venecia are also running under UNO.
Brig. Gen. Danny Lim and actor Edu Manzano are also included.
Atty. Koko Pimentel, if he decides to drop his case in the Supreme Court for having been cheated in 2007 elections, will also be an UNO candidate. Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago is a guest candidate.
The list has one more slot left open for a possible guest candidate.
Sen. Estrada on Tuesday said his father, former president Joseph Estrada, will be announcing his presidential bid soon after distributing relief goods in central and northern Luzon. He said his father has chosen UNO president and Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay to be his running mate.

The line-up is interesting. I just hope that the level of campaign would be different from the traditional way campaign is being done. We should expect more discussion on what needs to be done and not just empty campaign promises. Also what is our assurance that whatever campaign platform they adopt is going to be faithfully implemented. We have had enough of rhetorics.
