MANILA, Philippines—Bayan Muna Reprehensive Satur Ocampo and Gabriela Representative Liza Maza have announced that they will not join the senatorial slate of presidential aspirant and Senator Manuel Villar and would just run as independents.In a statement on Tuesday, the two decided to reject Villar after his Nacionalista Party decided to get Ilocos Norte Representative Ferdinand Marcos Jr., as a senatorial candidate.
Ocampo is among the many political prisoners of the Marcos dictatorship.
The Marcoses have refused to acknowledge and apologize for the atrocities of the Marcos martial law.
