MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE) Jesus is Lord Movement founder Brother Eddie Villanueva filed his candidacy for president with the Commission on Elections Monday.

With Villanueva were former Security and Exchange Commission chairman Perfecto Yasay, who will run as his vice president; and his senatorial candidates former Senator Noldy Alonto, Kata Inocencio, Ramon Ocampo, Israel Vigenes, and Alex Tinsay to represent different sects.

Villanueva will run under Bangon Pilipinas Movement party, whom he claimed was accredited by the poll body.

If he wins the presidency, Villanueva promised to eradicate corruption, speed up the judicial proceedings especially on cases like the Maguindanao massacre involving media men and civilians, and have President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo tried for all cases charged against her.

Villanueva also ran in the 2004 elections but lost despite the claimed three to four million voters' base.

Supporters of Villanueva amassed outside the Palacio Del Gobernador building in Intramuros cheering him on as he filed his candidacy.
