Bro. Eddie Villanueva said that his team is called the “Magnificent 7.” His Magnificent 7 “dream team” consists of him and 6 members of his senatorial slate.
“The entire spectrum of Philippine society is properly represented (in the Magnificent 7),” he told reporters after they filed their certificates of candidacy, November 30, 2009.
Former broadcasters Alex Tinsay and Kata Inocencio are part of his team. Tinsay was a reporter for television network GMA 7 while Inocencio is a co-host of Villanueva in his television show “Diyos at Bayan.”
Also part of his slate is Perfecto Yasay, Securities and Exchange Commissioner from 1995 to 2000. He was also a Senior Partner at two law firms. He was also a managing director to Philippine News, New York Bureau from 1983 to 1987. From 1973 to 1979, Yasay was Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation’s Legal Department Manager.
Another lawyer in the slate is Ramoncito Ocampo of the El Shaddai, another religious movement. Ocampo is a Los Angeles-based lawyer who went home because he would try “to make a stand against graft and corruption.” Ocampo left the United States last November 16, 2009.
Dr. Israel Virgines and author Zafrullah Alonto are also in the Bangon Pilipinas Party senatorial slate. (abs-cbnNEWS.com/Newsbreak)
